The MERIT Operating Assistance program provides funding for operating expenses for many types of transit services, including fixed route and commuter bus service, demand response, bus rapid transit, ferry, commuter and light rail service. The MERIT Operating Assistance - Rural funding opportunity supports transit operations, maintenance, repairs and administrative costs for transit agencies in rural areas.
