Description
DRPT awards Federal Transit Administration Section 5310 funding for the enhanced mobility of seniors (ages 65 and older) and individuals with disabilities. The Operating award funds operating projects to provide transportation services to the eligible population.
Operating programs focus on the delivery of a transportation service for seniors and individuals with disabilities, including access to accessible transportation. DRPT will not fund operating projects which the agency receives Older American Act funding to provide – all projects funded through this program must be in addition to those required services. Organizations that serve a set client base, such as CSBs, are not eligible to apply for operating funding.
Operating funds include direct expenses for the provision of transportation services, including transportation staff salaries, marketing, fuel, maintenance, and insurance for 5310 vehicles, and other eligible expenses.
This is a reimbursement grant. The local match is 10%. If awarded, the local match will be deducted from the reimbursement request.
