Description
DRPT awards Federal Transit Administration Section 5310 funding for the enhanced mobility of seniors (ages 65 and older) and individuals with disabilities. The Other Capital: Mobility Management award funds mobility management projects to coordinate and/or plan transportation designed to serve the eligible populations.
Mobility management programs focus on coordination among public transportation providers, human service agencies, and other groups that provide transportation in an area. The purpose of the program is to enhance access to transportation beyond one organization. This includes connecting seniors and individuals with disabilities to transportation, but does not include the operating cost of the service.
Eligible expenses under this Funding Opportunity include staff salaries, marketing, and other expenses. Please note: staff under this program must assist the eligible population with transportation that may include, but is not limited to, the organization they are employed with. If a staff person is only assisting to plan/schedule/arrange transportation with the organization they are employed with, that is an Operating expense. This program also supports staff who help plan and design new transportation services that serve the eligible population.
This is a reimbursement grant. The local match is 4%. If awarded, the local match will be deducted from the reimbursement request.
